Pecos Prairie
Rooted in the wide-open llano of eastern New Mexico and inspired by the winding Pecos River, the Pecos Prairie Collection celebrates the enduring beauty of life close to the land.
Here, prairie sunflowers turn their faces to the sun, Bird-of-Paradise blooms brighten the desert breeze, and cedar and juniper stand watch across the horizon. These landscapes have shaped generations of ranchers, herbalists, homesteaders, and country folk whose traditions were born not from cities, but from a deep relationship with the natural world.
The Pecos Prairie Collection brings together handcrafted goods inspired by those traditions—herbal remedies, botanical creations, ranch-inspired treasures, and everyday rituals rooted in place. Each piece reflects the quiet wisdom of open skies, flowing water, native plants, and the rhythms of rural life.
The word pagan comes from the Latin paganus, meaning "country dweller," "villager," or "person of the rural landscape." Long before it became associated with religious beliefs, the term simply described people who lived beyond the cities—those whose lives were shaped by the rhythms of the land, the seasons, the sun, the moon, and their local communities.
At Pecos Prairie, we honor that original spirit of paganus: a deep connection to place, a respect for nature, and the enduring wisdom found in rural traditions. It is a celebration of open skies, working hands, native plants, and the simple beauty of life lived close to the earth.
Created in New Mexico and inspired by the land we call home, Pecos Prairie is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and remember that some of life's richest traditions are found along country roads, riverbanks, and windswept grasslands.
